5k for International Safe Abortion Day

Every day, at least 10 people in Europe have to travel abroad for an abortion. For those who can’t afford the costs to do this, Abortion Support Network is there to help. Take on our virtual 5k challenge this September and you can help raise vital funds to support people seeking a safe abortion across Europe.
What is 5k for International Safe Abortion Day?
Sunday 28 September is International Safe Abortion Day, so we are calling on pro-choice runners to take on a 5k challenge that weekend (between Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September). Whether you’re trying to set a PB, or on a chatty easy run with a friend, you’ll be raising funds to help someone access abortion care.
How does it work?
Taking part is simple!
- Sign up via our event page, and set up your fundraising page
- Get in touch if you have any questions or need a boost from our brilliant fundraising team
- Get training for your 5k on 27-28 September (however this looks for you – we are not the running police)
- Share your journey with your friends and on social media so they can support you with a donation
- Run (or jog, or walk) your 5k on 27 or 28 September, and record it on your fundraising page (and in our Strava club)
What you’ll get for taking part
- An ASN running shirt (if you want one)
