Access to safe abortion is life-affirming healthcare and a natural part of reproductive life. But abortion access across the UK and Europe is restricted, and reproductive rights are under attack. This attack is felt in the bodies and lives of women and gender-expansive people, and the attack is growing.
ASN’s role is connecting those who need abortions with those who can provide them, and foregrounding hope, care and mutual aid as a positive resistance.
In 2025, the Abortion Support Network helpline heard from 1,243 people, 25% more than the year before. ASN’s 2026-2028 Strategic Plan sets out the many barriers to abortion access, the challenges facing our movement, and ASN’s solution to enable this essential care over the next 2 years.
