“Number looking for financial aid to access abortions doubles”.

Women ‘cannot afford abortion in Britain’. Abortion Support Network says the number of Irish women contacting it because they cannot meet the cost of an abortion in Britain has more than doubled since the start of the year.

ASN Director Mara Clarke is quoted in an article on the Department of Health’s abortion figures for 2010: around 12 women a day travel from Ireland to access safe, legal abortion in the UK.
